Private Clarinet Instruction and Audition Coaching
About Me
Hi! My name is Tyler. I have played clarinet since the year 2000 when I started at Congress Middle School in Kansas City, MO. In high school I won 1st chair clarinet in the Missouri All State Band three years in a row, and went on to study clarinet with the late Dr. David Etheridge and then Dr. Suzanne Tirk both at the University of Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor's of Music Performance in Spring of 2012.
I enjoy playing and teaching the clarinet, relying on what I was taught in lessons by my teachers (who also included Nathan Stamper and Cindy Price-Svehla), in master classes taught by the late Donald Montanaro, Jon Manasse, Diane Cawein-Barger, Tom Ridenour, and the late Russ Dagon, and my own investigations of old pedagogical materials from celebrated clarinet teachers like Daniel Bonade, Keith Stein, and Robert Marcellus.
I also deeply understand the psychological challenges that come with auditions and performances and love to coach people to represent their playing ability as well as possible in the audition room or on stage.
